In 2004-05 Ms. Gutierrez will debut the role of Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto
with the Connecticut Grand Opera, operatic galas with the Sacramento
Symphony, the Johnstown Symphony, and the Finnish National Opera Orchestra,
followed by the title role in Lakmé at Sarasota Opera, and her
Opera Orchestra of New York debut in the role of Philène in Thomas'
Mignon at Carnegie Hall, will be Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Colon
in Buenos Aires, and sings Beethoven's Missa Solemnis also at Carnegie
Hall. In 2005-06 Miss Gutierrez will debut at the Wexford Festival in
the title role of Maria di Rohan.
Miss Gutierrez's long list of awards and honors also includes Winner
of the Monserat Caballé International Opera Competition, First
Place in the Marian Anderson Opera Competition and Second Place in the
Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation Opera Competition during 2002. For

She won First Place in the Giargirai Bel Canto Opera Competition, Second
Place in the Orlando Opera and J. Parkinson Italia Opera Competitions
in 2001, and received First Prize in the Sun Coast Opera Competition
in 2000. During the 2003-04 season Miss Gutierrez will complete her
final year at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. During her
studies there, she has performed several leading roles, including the
title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, Amina in Bellini's La sonnambula
and Nannetta in Falstaff. Additional roles in her repertoire include
Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, and the title roles in Roig's Cecilia
Valdes and Vives' Doña Francisquita.
